Pesso-Boyden Somatic  Psychotherapy (PBSP)

Pesso Boyden therapy is an experiential approach that explores how early emotional experiences shape the way we feel about ourselves and relate to others. Many of our deepest patterns develop in childhood. If important emotional needs, such as feeling safe, supported, valued, or protected, were not fully met, we can carry those expectations into adult life without realising it.This might show up as repeating relationship patterns, strong self-criticism, difficulty trusting others, or a persistent sense that something is missing.

In this therapy we don’t only talk about these experiences. We use a carefully guided process that helps you explore how those early patterns were formed and imagine what might have helped at the time. This can create new emotional experiences that allow the nervous system to recognise that different outcomes are possible. This therapy can be done in individual sessions, and also in a group setting which can be a powerful way to work.

People often find this approach helpful if they understand their past intellectually but still feel emotionally stuck.
